Belper Directory is run by a small team of people, passionate about the Belper community and hoping that business stays in the local area.

We built the website using a Theme/Plugin called Directory Press, although this is something we hadn’t used before and proved quite troublesome and expensive, the site enables the local businesses to add their company to the directory from free whilst at the same time creating a user account, sending automated emails and then creating a pending list ready for an administrator to make it live.

Those companies that do want a little bit more exposure can pay up to £10 per annum to get a front page listing, all of which is processed through Paypal enabling very little management of the account.

A few little extras we included were an events calendar that customers can subscribe to, a specific mobile version showing only the directory and an instagram feed based on a geolocation, in this case Belper.
